The next day was overcast and there was sporadic rain.  With the dramatic mountain scenery, it reminded my mum and I of Wales.  Despite the rain, we managed to see most of the sites on the main haul in Taroko.

In the evening, we spent a long time at the Wenshan hot springs by the river.  One of the pools was so hot that you couldn't put your whole body in for very long.  Yet the air was cold.  Some people were wearing sweaters, only their legs in the water.  I pointed out how funny they looked to Don and Mum.  Five minutes later, I put my sweater on and did the same.
