Home > Trips, photos > South Cross-Island > 3rd day: Lidao-Taidong In the morning, we walked around the village. A number of brave people had been camping: some in front of the local primary school, some outside what looked like some kind of community centre.
Later, back on the highway, we spotted some little pools by the side of the road which had hot spring water piped into them. They didn't look very attractive. We saw a place in the cliff where the hot spring water came out. The stone below was coloured by the minerals in the water. Directly below, some steam marked another outlet for the spring. We stopped at a tiny village even smaller than Lidao, then made good time down the highway to the flat ground of the east rift valley.
